'The Walkie Talkie', UK

PCR were awarded the contract to provide safe access equipment to the inconic 'Walkie Talkie' building in London

20 Fenchurch Street, otherwise known as the 'Walkie Taklie' building due to its unusual architectural characteristics was infamous for its ability to reflect heat from the glazing panels to street level from where it caused significant issues such as melting car dashboards during the summer. PCR were employed to install suspended cradle platforms so that a protective film and louvres could be installed to cool the building down and hence prevent the aforementioned problems from occuring again. Our highly skilled height workers were able to overcome the challenging obstacles to erect the access equipment to this uniquely shaped building within the alloted contract time frame.
